At Caritas MJD, our work is guided by two timeless approaches: See–Judge–Act and the 4Es. These frameworks shape how we look at the world, listen to people’s struggles, reflect with the Gospel, and respond in ways that bring hope and renewal.
See – Judge – Act
- See – We begin by looking honestly at the reality before us. Floods, like those in Kedah, show how ordinary families such as Mr. Anu’s are displaced, their homes and livelihoods destroyed. Rising temperatures and poor urban planning reveal deeper causes that leave the poor most vulnerable.
- Judge – We then interpret these realities through the eyes of faith. Scripture reminds us: “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good” (Gen 1:31). Catholic Social Teaching calls us to stewardship of creation, solidarity with the poor, and justice for those most affected. We ask: What is God telling us through these cries of creation and humanity?
- Act – Finally, we take concrete steps. This may be personal changes—reducing waste, planting trees—or community action such as parish recycling drives, clean-up efforts, and advocacy for sustainable development. Spiritually, it means praying with creation and keeping victims of disaster in our hearts.
See–Judge–Act helps us move from awareness to reflection, and from reflection to meaningful action.
