About the Speakers:

Fr. Fabian Dicom is a priest of the Diocese of Penang and currently serves as the National Director of Caritas Malaysia. With nearly 30 years of priestly ministry, he has been involved in various efforts to support the Church’s social mission, especially in accompanying the poor, migrants, and those in need of care and justice.

Dr. Francis Loh Kok Wah is a former Professor of Southeast Asian Politics in Universiti Sains Malysia, Penang, where he taught for 30-plus years. He received his PhD from Cornell University in 1980. He was a Senior Adviser to the Forum of Federations, Myanmar Office (2012-2024) and is currently a Board Member of Mosaic Myanmar. He is also an Adjunct Lecturer in the College General Catholic Seminary, Penang. He has previously served in the Justice and Peace Commission, Diocese of Penang; and in the Advisory Committee on Human Rights and Responsibilities, Catholic Bishops Conference Malaysia. He was Chairman of the Board, St Xavier’s Institution, Penang and its affiliate primary schools (2009-2020). He served as Secretary of the multi-ethnic multi-religious NGO Aliran for 20 years, and as its president for 5 years (2011-2016).
